Kate Middleton's makeup

We all love weddings! However, this was the wedding the world has been waiting for, after months of waiting from the announcement of their engagement between Prince and Kate, finally they tied the not traditionally at Westminister this morning. Fashion bloggers, magazines, gurus etc, could not wait for the revelation of Kates dress... while I couldn't wait to see the makeup! I was always saying to myself how blessed the makeup artist who is doing her makeup is, and I wish it were me, to actually find out, she done it herself! Yes Kate Middleton's, DIY makeup was done by herself and I think she done an amazing job!

Kate received makeup lessons and tips from bridal artist Arabella Preston www.arabellapreston.com to create her look for her wedding. The bride beautifully applied a soft smokey eye look which went beautifully with her dark coloured eyes and hair, she went for a bold application of blusher, highlighted her cheek bones and applied nude lipstick. Her eyebrows were bold (just how i like em') she looked stunning.

My views on the dress by Sarah Burton.... gorgeous!! It complimented her figure, perfect for a queen to be, simple yet vintage... she made a great choice.

Congratulations Will and Kate! All the best!

FINALE: The Show

So, we come to the end of the Congo Brazzaville series for the glamourous makeup showcase held at 'Palais Du Congres'... 'Glamour Authentique' It was a great experience, totally different to London shows. One week of absolute fun and one evening of African glam! My first ever international makeup job, and it doesn't stop here... please stay tuned for future tours of my makeup ventures around the globe!

Here are some pics 'Shadders' snapped...

As this was a makeup showcase... me and Mili (the makeup artists) had to do an 'artist' walk LOL, it was like i was a fashion designer, nerve racking but i done it!!

Pierre Garroudi 'takes over London'- Makeup Looks

I was happy to be one of the makeup artists for this unique event. French fashion designer 'Pierre Garroudi' decided to take over London with his red collection last thursday evening in the heart of London in the peak time of rush hour! The stunning 20 models wore avant garde hair styles and head gear with flamboyant red outfits from the collection. The streets of Central London was astonished with the appearance as heads turned, traffic stopped, ppl took pictures and filmed these ladies strut through London. It was an amazing and exciting event, I did not go all over London with them, but witnessed the parade up until London Bridge... they then got on a train and headed to Charing Cross and Trafalgar Square.

Here is a makeup photo diary of my contribution to the event.... Enjoy!

Fashion show looks

Fashion show makeup
Backstage at 'Glamour Authentique' I literally improvised! I didn't come prepared! What I was told however was not to be precise as the Congolese love boldness and colour, so this was my chance to have fun with makeup and make it an art.... I felt like i was doing 'carnival' makeup, it was exciting!! I took inspiration from Mili Mouk as her artistry is very exaggerated, bold and creative. I made up a total of 17 models on the night out of 30... Mili done the others.... If you look at some of my designs, most of them were pretty simple, there was simply no way to fit in 17 models and do detailed looks at the time offered, I done simple but effective blends and used gems/rhinestones to beautify the look... hope it worked!

Check out some of the images below of some of my contribution towards the makeup backstage.

A peculiar, fish type style that literally put itself together, whilst I drew on the makeup....

The flame also came about through colour,
I wanted to contrast the metallic colours with her dark skin
Fired lips!!! I have never thought to do a theme like this but, I got excited
and wanted to go wild... I can easily see this image at Notting hill carnival!

This look came about because this model was upset and was crying... so I told her she inspired me to do this look and she smiled!
