Indian Wedding in New Jersey (bridal makeup)

So, my first ever makeup for an Indian wedding wasn't in London but in New Jersey! I was so happy to assist makeup artist Naz Beauty for this wedding... with 5 stunning bridesmaids and a gorgeous bride.
I made up four bridesmaids whilst Naz worked on the bride, mother of brides, sister in law and others.
The event was held at the grande Hyatt hotel in New Jersey, Brunswick and the preparation was all in the bridal suite.

3 bridesmaids

As we may all know, Asians, are not afraid of colour.... they are bold with golds reds and anything bright.  As all weddings, these bridesmaids had their preferences, with still using lots of colour for eye makeup but in a subtle way.

Bridesmaids makeup:
Using gold shimmer gold dust by Barry M.. I covered the entire eyelid, gold.
In the outter V of the lid, I blended in a subtle green taken from my 120 palette.
In the tear duct and inner corner of the eyelid I used, a shimmery red and blended with the gold.
We did no emphasis on the eyebrows, as it was well threaded prior to preparation and as they have thick hairs, no filling was necessary.
I then applied mascara with eyeliner on top and bottom lash line with a small flick.
Cheeks, were very a subtle pink with lipstick a nude/pinkish lip colour- Shade 3 from MUA.
I finished off with MAC translucent powder.

I used the same look on all bridesmaids, notice how the makeup used vibrant colours but in a nice subtle way just how they liked it.

Preparation.....

Stunning mother of bride, getting hair done by Farah.

All these colours were so outstanding!

So lovely to see their sari's lovely bold colours- amazing

Thank you to Jonix Customisers and Lanyero

If you haven't seen already, I done a THANK YOU video to the entire shoot behind the Atlanta shoot with Derek Blanks and Alasia Ballard. I completely feel very guilty for missing two London based designers who kind enough to loan me some of their items for the shoot. They are very good at their craft and I really love what they do, to why I had to approach them to have an involvement in the shoot.
Please forgive me for completely 'forgetting' to add you both.. I have been very naughty and I am sorry!!
I would like to thank African contemporary wear designer Lanyero for her clothing items, it really gave the look a theme and for the wardrobe stylist to work with, the team was in love with the dress, and Alasia even wanted to purchase it!
Also big thanks to Jonix Customisers, who make THE most magnificent and creative eyewear, jewellery, customise clothing and shoes- all hand crafted- We had a pair of Jonix's chained and lace stunners (celebrity style) that indeed stunned all of us and added something edgy to the shoot. Alasia even wanted to purchase these also!

Shoot in Atlanta at Derek Blanks Studio

I don't think i have worked with a photographer so PROFESSIONAL and hard working and also as humble as Derek Blanks. The experience was wonderful, having being in Atlanta Georgia for my first time ever let alone to work in the studio of Essence magazine's official celebrity photographer.
I have been co-ordinating and organising this shoot for about 4 months, with Alasia Ballard (ANTM Cycle 14) contestant and managing to hook up with Derek Blanks made this shoot successful.
The creative team involved were soooo talented, including hairstylist Stephanie Harris (StephDaHairQueen) of Washington DC and wardrobe stylist Askia Bryant from Atlanta, GA. Also on board a beautiful high fashion top model DiAndrea Redding, we all had a fun and creative day.

Here are some pics from backstage... official pictures by Derek Blanks will be out soon!

Ama Toffees: Wishlist for the Makeup Show NYC

I have finally got my ticket to go to 'The Makeup Show' NYC, the dates are for the 15th and 16th May at Metropolitan Pavilion. The show is kind of like the IMATS, and will be filled with almost all the best makeup firms in the industry such as MAC, Dinair, Inglot, Graftobian, Kryolan, Nars and many many more.

So I have been preparing my wishlist for months now as I want my moneys worth and hopefully it would be cheaper than the prices in the UK!

M.A.C
As my kit is already full of MAC products I am just topping up....
138: Tapered Face Brush

I tried this out as a client of mine introduced it to me, and I fell in love with it! Its so nice and soft, and the application is superb and gives an even finish with powder, this brush can also be used for a circled blush application rather than an angled look. The retail price is $52... lets hope it is reduced at the fair!

Long awaited, I kept avoiding this palette, but I think I may finally invest!
Pro palette 15 x refill
Retail price $26.50
i have to put a question mark on that one as UK price is £11! Lets see what the show tells us!
You can then pick and mix different shades to add to your own palette. Perfect for a pro artist!

                                            SPIKED>

My FAVOURITE eyebrow groomer in the world! I am constantly topping up on this, I use for all my clients and myself and I am not changing!!
Retails price: $15

Best eyelash glue I have found so far $6!

I am curious on the look of this, I would purchase it and see if it really 'brightens'! In my opinion it may not be useful for dark skin, but who knows?! Lets try it out! $40

I want to purchase this tint for MYSELF not my kit!! The coverage is fascinating. $29.50

Excellent base for foundation wether its powder of liquid, this is the stuff! $26.50

Kryolan

This makeup company is more theatrical... I am interested in buying products for the creative side of my kit.

MUST HAVE blusher palette! I sooo want this in my kit, every colour is pretty much available... lets hope the price is great!
Aqua Colour eyeshadow palette...

Inglot
When I first saw this shop at Westfield London, I fell in love! The 'Freedom System' gives you a chance to pick and choose different shades of foundation, blush, lipstick, eyeshadows... its very versatile!

I wish to get lipstick shades............
Freedom- lip palette... I WANT!

That is half of my list! there are still other companies to look at! I also have not heard of some other ones and would like to explore... I will definitely take pics of the fair and may be a video diary...! I will keep you updated! For more details look up http://www.themakeupshow.com/makeupshow/NY/index.html
