Bridal Season is approaching!

Congratulations to all the brides for 2011! Marriage is a wonderful thing and its one day a bride needs to look at her best for her man.
I am receiving bridal appointments for makeup and beauty so please hurry and book me if you require my services.
I offer excellent rates for the bride, bridesmaid, mother of bride and other persons, individually priced or as a different packages.
I have three years in experience in bridal makeup as working for Benefit cosmetics carried out appointment based bridal tutorials and trial makeovers to different types of women ranging from Asian/Arabic, Caucasian, Afro/Caribbean... with all different shades of skins and tones.

My Services:
I am blessed to be all in one package having the skills in not only makeup but with eye beauty skills. I am a certified/qualified eye beauty specialist in all of the areas below.

Semi permanent eyelashes

You can opt for a subtle look to full eyelashes, these lashes can last for up to 6 weeks or even more depending on how you care for them. The procedure can take up to two hours as it is placed one by one on each eyelash. Although time consuming, the result is long lasting, natural and glamorous.

Individual Eyelashes

Individual eyelashes look effective on lashes for a more full look. It is a quick and simple procedure, lasts for up to 10 days and takes under 20 minutes to apply.

Tracks Eyelashes
I also carry tracks in my makeup kit which take under two minutes to apply.

Threading
I also thread and reshape eyebrows, as well as offer chin, upper lip sides, forehead or full face.

Eyelash and Eyebrow Tinting
Not every bride wants false lashes, I offer tinting for brows and lashes.

Eyelash perming
Lash perming is to curl eyelashes, some women want that extra curl, and want that extra length perming eyelashes is the solution for this procedure.

Hair:
I can offer very basic hair for my clients at very affordable prices; please look at the photo shoot pics below as I done all the hair for the shoot (except the last one)

What type of bride are you?
There are different types of brides, usually reflecting on the type of person you are. It is important as it will reflect on the type of look you want in terms of the type of makeup, hair, dress, theme and overall presentation.
Some brides prefer to change from what they usually are for their special day.

  • Diva
  • Classic and traditional (to your custom)
  • Laid back or original
  • Classy
  • Simple and subtle
  • Princess

When you know your preferences it would be so much easier to create your final look and may not even be necessary to have a makeup wedding trial.

Bridal Shoot
I had a small bridal shoot at my studio at 'Eclat Hair Salon', Brixton, London.

Healthy Skin- The importance of makeup

Alot of people think makeup is bad for your skin. The truth is, it isn't. Makeup is a shield, protecting us from the UV rays from the sun especially in the polluted areas we live in, the climate change etc.
Makeup is only bad for you if you do not look after what it lives on by rotatively cleansing, toning and moisturising in the morning and evening.

People of Colour
I bet you would have never even thought for a second (unless you already know) women of colours cases in skin cancer is rising over the years. In fact, its at a very rapid and high rate particularly in developed countries such as Europe and the States. and although the climate tends to be colder, the pollution is higher than in the Mediterranian, Caribbean and most parts of Africa.
People of colour tend to think that sunshine would not harm our skin because we originate from hot countries, but to be honest, we are not back home in Africa, so the suns radar is completely different in European climates.

Caucasian Skin
White skin does not have as much layers of skin as coloured, therefore even though you are not from hot climate weather, its extremely essential to protect your skin.
For all skin conditions/colours, Sun Protection Factors are useful, (SPF) and nowadays all makeup contains SPF to protect skin from the climate.

It is not the case for ALL of you to run out and buy makeup, but the main advise is to PROTECT your skin (particularly your face as it is constantly exposed), with not any ordinary Palmers Cocoa Butter or vaseline or Razac! Our skin simply needs a barrier such as moisturising lotion, rose water, orange water, that extra hold to block away from being disturbed.  Even more protection is that extra layer of makeup.

Thanks for reading ;)
On my next blog I would talk more in depth on what brands of lotions are not good and what is good.
